Eros: Named After The God Of Desire

Eros, launched in 2012 and created by perfumer Aurelien Guichard, takes its name from the Greek god of love, son of Aphrodite himself. Donatella Versace has called it "the DNA of the house," and it's easy to see why. It opens with a sharp hit of mint, green apple and lemon, moves into tonka bean and geranium, then settles into vanilla, cedarwood and vetiver. More than a decade later, it's still routinely ranked among the most recognisable men's fragrances on the market, the kind of scent most people can identify within seconds.

Bright Crystal: The Women's Counterpart

On the women's side, Bright Crystal, launched in 2006, takes a cooler, more aquatic approach. It opens crisp and almost icy, then unfolds into peony, magnolia and lotus, finishing on a soft musk base. It's become one of Versace's most enduring women's releases, fresh enough for daytime wear but with enough floral depth to carry into the evening.
