A Nairobi perfume house built on what's actually in the bottle.
We started House of Essence because too many people in Kenya were paying premium prices for fragrances that turned out to be fakes. Three years later, we are still doing the one thing that matters most: selling original perfumes, sourced properly, sold honestly.
A frustration with counterfeit fragrance
House of Essence began over three years ago in Nairobi, started by people who loved fragrance and were tired of guessing whether a bottle bought online was genuine. We set out to build a store where the perfume on your skin matches exactly what's printed on the box.
Verified local suppliers, checked every time
Every fragrance we sell is sourced wholesale from verified suppliers within Kenya. We do not source from unverified resellers, secondhand listings, or anyone who cannot account for where a bottle has come from. Before any product reaches our shelves, we check batch codes, packaging, and seals against the manufacturer's standard.
A growing catalogue, shipped countrywide
Today we carry a wide range of designer and niche houses, from Lattafa and Afnan to Dior, Chanel, and Versace, with new arrivals added regularly. Every order is packed at our Spring Valley premises and shipped countrywide, with pay on delivery available within Nairobi.

We are based in Spring Valley, Nairobi, and deliver countrywide. Within Nairobi, you can pay on delivery. Outside Nairobi, orders are dispatched within one to two business days.
